But let’s talk about Jamie Brewer.
She’s awesome.
Jamie Brewer made her television debut on American Horror Story. Prior to her transition to acting on camera she was a theatrical actress. She has not left the stage, however, and still continues her training through theater and through improvisation at 'The Groundlings Theatre and School' .
Being an individual with Down Syndrome Jamie has made it a point to be active in the Down Syndrome community. Jamie was the youngest to ever be elected President of the ARC of Fort Bend Chapter. From there, she was appointed to the State of Texas ARC Board, then elected to the Executive Board as Treasurer. Jamie was then asked to serve on the ARC Governmental Affairs Committee for the State of Texas. She spoke with Senators at the Texas State Capitol to persuade them to pass the law for Texas to abolish using the “R” word from state legislation, and regarding the needs of people with disabilities in Texas. Texas now uses “Intellectual Developmental Disability” in their legislation. 1
Brewer is involved with a several non-profit organizations, including DSALA, DSiAM, BTAP, National Down Syndrome Congress, American Association of People with Disabilities of the United States, and Civitan International.

The True Supreme, IMHO

You deserve someone who will always text back,
someone who will kiss you and won’t blame it on alcohol.

You deserve someone who will never make you feel like you can’t be loved.

You deserve someone who can see the pain behind your smile
and comfort you without a word.

You deserve someone who will hold you and tell you everything will be okay when it seems like the world is crumbling down.

You deserve someone who will never leave you or take you for granted, who has seen you at your worst and still loves you.

You say you got a problem, well that’s no problem.
It’s super easy not to feel that way!
When you start to get confused because of thoughts in your head,
don’t feel those feelings, hold them in instead.
Turn it off, like a light switch. Just go click!
It’s a cool little Mormon trick!

FUCKING BLESS THIS SIGNAL BOOST REBLOG NOW! THIS IS SO NECESSARY

you can find this on my tagged/wizardmickeyls for future reference.. this is so damn important.

as someone who works a safety team at events I can promise you this is accurate and incredibly useful! Honesty is truly the best policy with this stuff when things go south

I’ve always known this and super glad someone put this into a simple but informative post. Reblog reblog reblog

There’s an electro festival close to where I work and every year, we admit a few dozen overdoses.
Knowing what we’re up against makes it so much easier for us to take care of you. We’re not here to judge, we’re here to help. We realize you didn’t intend to overdose, you just got unlucky.

To all my fellow defqon attendees, be careful on saturdayyyy!

HALLELUJAH HARM REDUCTION!

With the exception of the “telling us someone put it in your drink is getting old” line (which is a shitty thing to say because there are plenty of people who genuinely get dosed against their will and still need non-judgmental care) this is pretty awesome.

I dig me some harm reduction and safety planning. No one wants you to stop having fun, just be as safe as possible.
